Violin and Viola
Growing up in a musical family, Ms. Stevens knew from an early age that she wanted to be a chamber musician and music teacher.
After graduating from the Alabama School of Fine Arts, Ms. Stevens attended the Juilliard School in New York, studying with Paul Doktor and Margaret Pardee. While earning her Master of Music degree, she held the position of Teaching Assistant to faculty member Paul Doktor, and discovered her deep love of working with students.
Ms. Stevens later attended the two-year School for Strings Suzuki Teacher Training Program led by Juilliard faculty member Louise Behrend, and joined the faculty of Ms. Behrend’s School for Strings in New York City.
She also taught at the Diller-Quaile School of Music. Ms. Stevens was an active freelance musician and chamber music performer, and a founding member of the Diller-Quaile String Quartet.
Ms. Stevens most recently served as an orchestra director in the Cobb County School District, a suburb of Atlanta, Ga. She also maintained a private studio for the Suzuki approach, working with the very young through advanced high school students.
In her spare time, you can find Ms. Stevens enjoying music with her two sons, playing with her two dogs, or practicing underwater photography as an avid SCUBA diver.
